game of thrones s02e08 - the prince of winterfell

Up to this point, I’m highly terrified for any of the Starks. Don’t you dare, Martin!
I’m telling you, I don’t remember being this nervous about a fictional epic war, not even during the Lord of the Rings era. Somehow, I know that Frodo, Sam, Merry, Pippins, Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli will survive in the end, because the hobbits are the hobbits and the remaining three is unquestionably the greatest knights of their race. But with (presumably) the Battle of King’s Landing and other lesser battles all around?
None of the Starks are safe. Even Lady Stark the mother (sorry, I forgot her name, Cathlyn Stark?) is separated from her knight Brianne, and I have to tell you that it makes me nervous. It’s clear that Arya and her little brothers will be spared, because even Martin isn’t that crazy to terminate any of the younger kids, but I still worry over Robb, Jon and Sansa’s lives.
Only two episodes remaining, and I’m really considering putting them off until, well, you know, next season next year?
If haven’t known by now, I’m so bad with endings and generally avoid them like a plague.

We have to give them back. Speak three names and a man will do the rest. Three lives I will give you, no more, no less. And we're done.
- Arya Stark: I can name anyone? And you'll kill him?

Okay, two body count this episode. One is so unexpected, but really, it’s the one I should’ve seen coming, actually. The other, well, I don’t care so much about the deceased, rather than the one who sends him to his grave.
I wonder how George R.R. Martin does it. Each and every one of his characters are like these chess pieces which belong to this super advanced chess game, giving me the super headache too whenever I think about what’s the next step and what’s the outcome is going to be. Some pawns are sacrificed, many are eaten, and which Queen will be left standing? Because the way the story goes this episode, I begin to think that perhaps the one who will come on top is one of the Queens and not a King.

Someone, preferably Robb or any other Stark, please chop Jeoffrey’s head off, like, right now?
But anyway, why do I even watch this show again? In just one episode, the amount of people being chopped off and tortured was already making me went all weak in the knees. *shudders*
*ADDED AFTER THE EPISODE*
Anyway, the answer is for the question on the last paragraph is… I watch for Tyrion (and his wit and brilliancy!) and Arya (and, well, by extension, Gendry, for now). And for the last scene of the episode.
It was… Well. I’ve watched Doctor Who and all sorts of strange and creepy movies and series, and believe me, my jaw did drop during the last scene, and my brain literally went, “What the f-“
Ha, something so out of the blue that you couldn’t possibly see it coming. (Unless if you happen to be Sherlock, or the Doctor, come to think of it.) The kind of surprise that I like best, oh yeah!
I am sometimes angry at you, Martin, but as of right now, I totally love you. Can’t wait to watch more. Next!
game of thrones s02e03 - what is dead may never die
- Tyrion: If I told you to murder an infant girl, say, still at her mother's breast, would you do it without question?
- Bronn: Without question? No.
- *beat*
- Bronn: I'd ask, "How much?"
I completely laughed out loud and also totally creep out tonight. And, yes, I was watching this Korean drama followed by the third episode of Game of Thrones.
What? Who says one can’t watch both and find equal, although different, enjoyment from both shows?
Damn, I already know that Korean brand of humor is really something, but the Hong sisters are really in a league of their own. It even got to the point where I have this quick wishful thinking that if only I know Korean… Because, well, even with some a lot of things got lost in translation, I’ve laughed like a mad person already. Now, imagine if I actually do understand every. single. joke.
And Gong Yoo is gold. That guy can produce comical expressions one after another like a machine.
Anyway, move along to GoT: I love it when they do something like putting in gay king-wannabe, smart heroine that’s able to produce quick and brilliant thinking on her own, Tyrion and Peter Dinklage and Tyrion (have I mentioned him already? Not enough yet? Okay), and… Basically continuing to screw everyone up.
Oh, and as for the body count this episode. Damn you, Martin, I actually like the uncle-substitute which takes Arya and Gendry away to the Wall. He’s still badass until his end though, so I may (or may not, I haven’t decided yet) let the matter pass. It’s for the sake of the story (by raising its dramatic level), so what the hell, right?

Game of Thrones s02e01 - The North Remembers

Still love the opening sequence. And as usual, can’t really remember who’s who (there’s too many new people left and right!) except for the Starks and Lannisters. Oh, and now I remember that I love Arya. She’s so adorable, and was - still am - bummed that she only gets, like, a minute full of airtime? Give me more of Arya, I command you!
And, well, things remain the same, which is good. Tyrion, or should I say, Peter Dinklage, is such a joy to watch, and he’s still the most interesting character so far. He’s the only one I love apart from the Starks, so that’s saying something. I just wish that they have more airtime, but, hey, when you’re sharing with countless other terrific actors, you just can’t complain of limited airtime, you’re simply lucky, period.
I still want to slap Joffrey ‘til he fly across the room, moreover since it seems like he commands his men to slay every boy in King’s Landing. Well, hello, paranoid much?
What’s new is the direwolf gets bigger, and it’s awesome. The little dragons(!). And the witch. She’s creepy, that’s for sure.

I’m all geared up to (finally!) watch the second season of ‘Game of Thrones’.
And one thing I have to remind myself is not to get attached to any of the characters. I’ve learnt my lesson with Boromir Ned.
But on a second thought, heck, why am I even planning on watching the second season if I don’t feel even the slightest bit attached to any of the characters (okay, well, the Starks)? I just might have to admit that I’m screwed.
How many body count will it be? Let’s watch to find out.
I finally watched the first season of Game of Thrones, all of its ten episodes, in two days.
